Canada-China dispute over Canola

Here at JORI International Ltd., we strive to keep you informed with the latest news.  According to Reuters Canada, China recently blocked a portion of Canadian canola shipments. Considering that oil seeds, fruit & grain was reported as one of the the top 10 Canadian exports to China, this is definitely expressing concern in Ottawa.

To be exact, this makes up 17 per cent of Canada’s total trade to China, according to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. The Canola Council of Canada says total exports of canola seed, oil and meal even amounted to $3.6 billion in 2017.
